Art imitates life as Uncle Sam causes some restaurants to go broke in 2024.

Prior to 2020 this BBQ joint was "Daddy's BBQ." Inflation has caused a rise in food costs, less people dining out, and reduced staff. And servers’ tips are still taxed.

Meanwhile our liberties are being pulled out from underneath us, just as Dearie's chair.

And the man holding up his ticket is anxious for Uncle Sam to pay his bill, although he is able. This is another example of the sad state-of-affairs in 2024.

On Independence Day I will say prayers for the future of our nation and the world.

Liberty Tabletop is the only manufacturer of stainless flatware in the United States! Revisiting the site today, for the first time in a couple of years, I found so much more. From stainless cookware to cast iron cookware, cutting boards to cooking utensils, dinnerware to drinkware, and much more including a food service and institutional category, and BBQ. And all these Liberty Tabletop products are made in the USA.

After reading the alarming news of microplastics, reporting that it is not just the ocean that is in danger. Fibers, flakes, spheres, and foams of microplastics are in food, drink, and the air we breathe. I recently threw all my plastic storage in the garbage and also started buying food and beverages including water in glass rather than plastic. So today I am also looking for alternatives for storage that is not plastic including bake and store glass.

I first found Liberty searching for stainless baking sheet, NOT made in China. Delighted to find their bakeware, I purchased the Bake and Roast Pan, Jelly Roll Pan, and Cookie Sheet. I also purchased some flatware and loved their option of purchasing samples to see, hold, and use before purchasing a pattern. And I purchased Chef Utensils of whisks and wooden spoons. I am delighted with everything and highly recommend.
