Giggle: That Guy! Tailgating Toon
The game of the year… and look who’s here.
Gab: Dreamland Bar-B-Que’s Walking Frito Pie with Dreamland Chili
CEO, Betsy McAtee Cooking Demo: Get Recipe, View Video
Dreamland’s walking recipe is perfect for game day tailgating, especially if That Guy has your tailgating chair… and your beers. That Guy knew Dreamland ribs would be at the tailgate. “Ain’t nothing like ‘em nowhere.” But they are everywhere on game days, and he knows this. He already has two on his plate and plans for others on the tailgater table he crashed. And if fans roll the trees after the game, even more for him!
Gourmet: Dreamland Charcuterie Boards
Outclass the rivals’ tailgate table with BBQ Charcuterie Boards and a candelabra.
Even That Guy can easily make a BBQ Charcuterie Board. All he needs to do is order Dreamland online. Or order take out, and have Dearie pick it up for him. Meanwhile he can assemble boards, parchment paper, and accompaniments. Granted he has no friends to invite over for the big game, 100%! But with his ravenous appetite, multiple boards are the game plan.
For the Texas game at University of Alabama, ESPN commentators enjoyed Dreamland Charcuterie boards and a big bowl of homemade banana pudding. Kuddos to Dreamland’s Marketing Director, Seth Newby, who assembled and organized the morning with catering manager, Amanda DeVert, and a Dreamland General Manager, LaVaris Tinker.
Backstory: Tailgating Memory
The candelabra is a curtsy to my cousin, Ada Kate Morgan, or as we called her, “Dickie.” She had the most delightful personality and sense of humor. Dickie held degrees from both Auburn University and University of Alabama, as well University of Chicago. Her portrait still hangs on both Alabama campuses. On game days, her staff had her tailgate set up by the time we arrived, including a large table complete with Iron Bowl tablecloth, and a silver candelabra with Auburn and Alabama candles. She would love the BBQ charcuterie boards. And I am certain she is laughing from Heaven at “That Guy!”
For the Iron Bowl, I plan to take a page from the Dreamland Team’s playbook and make my own BBQ charcuterie boards, while my family is in town for Thanksgiving week. And I will have a silver candelabra in the center with Auburn and Alabama candles lit in her memory.
